Happy Tuesday!
Hope everyone is doing well. What a beautiful day today! We deserve it, especially because of the dreary day at the zoo. Okay, I wasn't there, but I heard how crummy the weather was!
Speaking of which, thanks to those parents who were able to go along as chaperones on Friday. It was nice to know there were so many helpers there. I appreciate you taking the time out of your busy schedules to go with the kids.
Congratulations to: Ashlee, Audrey, Keaton, Nicole, Brooklynn, Braden, and Tess for earning their $250 this week. Nice job, everyone!
Our trip to the Richfield Historical Park is almost here! It looks to me like the weather is going to be good. Please have your child dressed appropriately. You may want to send a sweatshirt along for the morning and please make sure they have comfortable shoes for lots of walking . No sandals! Also, don't forget to send a bag lunch with their name on it and something to drink--no soda, please.
In my quest to start emptying my room, I tossed the list of drivers for Thursday. I will take 3, so that leaves 11 students that need transportation. PLEASE let me know asap if you were one of my drivers and how many students you can transport. I know that Mr. Jorgensen will also be driving since he is our chaperone. I will take drivers on a "first come, first served" basis. We will leave school at 8:50 and need to be picked up at 2:10.
Next week I will send home some of our end of year activities for the last week or so of school. The end is getting closer and closer!
If you recall, our mass is next week Wednesday, May 23rd. If your child will be having a reading part for the mass, I will be sending a practice copy home later this week. Please make sure your child practices!
Okay, that is all for now. Enjoy this beautiful day! As usual, if you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact me.
Thanks much,
Chris Lesczynski

Okay, that is all for now.
Hi everybody!
Wow, May 1st already! We are really heading down the home stretch now. We did have the "I know it is getting close to the end of the year, but we still have lots of work to do" talk the other day! Can't blame them, I guess!
Congratulations to: Grayson, Aubrie, Ashlee, and Brecken for earning their $250 this week. Great job!!
Please remember that we will not be going to Mass tomorrow, due to the fact that we will be going on Friday for Grandparents Day. Students do not need to wear Mass clothing tomorrow, but obviously should wear them on Friday. Also, Friday is an early dismissal day at 11:00.
Thanks for letting me know if you are going to the Zoo with us next week Friday. We have 7 parents going so far. If you would decide that you would like to go with us, just let me know. The more the merrier!!
If anyone would like to donate some containers of anti-bacterial wipes, I would really appreciate it. We are down to our last container.
Please remember to send in the permission slip/money for our trip to the Richfield Historical Park. I would like it in by tomorrow. Also, I do have enough drivers for to and from the park. Thanks!
Okay, that is all for now. Have a great rest of the week and enjoy this absolutely delightful weather!
Thanks much,
Chris Lesczynski

Happy Tuesday,
Well, what crazy weather we have been having. Someone said to me yesterday that they thought the kids liked having snow to play in again. Not! They were actually complaining that there was more snow and that they had to wear boots and snow pants.
Congratulations to Audrey and Beatrice for earning their $250 this week. Nice job ladies!
We are just finishing our second chapter on fractions this week. Our next chapter is about time, measuring, perimeter, and area. Kind of a fun chapter for a change.
I had a few inquiries about the 4th quarter book report. I had stated in my March 27th class page that the students would not have an at home report this quarter, but rather we are doing a class book report here at school on Charlotte's Web. There will not be any type of project to do at home this quarter.
We are also starting a unit in Social Studies about the pioneers and in Science we will be working with magnets.
Progress reports for this quarter will be sent home on Thursday, May 3, 2018.
The students wanted me to tell all of you how amazing they all are and that you should appreciate your kids. I am going to remind them that they should appreciate their parents!!
That is all for now. Hope you are all having a great week. Stay warm!
Thanks,
Chris Lesczynski

Hi everyone,
I have to apologize for not staying on schedule for my class page this week. I am a bit out of sorts, due to the fact that my oldest--meaning my very first ever friend-passed away from cancer this past Saturday. In the end, she had cancer everywhere and suffered greatly. I know she is at peace now.
So having said that, here are just a few things for the week...
Congratulations to Brooklynn, Braden, and Brayson for earning their $250 this week. Actually, Brayson had saved up $500 to cash in. Good job!
Please remember that all online orders for the April Scholastic books are due by next Tuesday, April 17th. As I said, that will be the last order that I will be placing for the year, due to the Scholastic Book Fair in May.
In the next few weeks, we will be doing our Family Life lesson here in 3rd grade. Our lesson is just one class period where we will discuss around 7 or 8 questions. All the questions mainly deal with how they would react in different situations especially with strangers. There are 2 or 3 questions dealing with inappropriate touching and what they should do if something like that would happen. Inappropriate places are referred to as those places covered by a swimming suit. If you do not wish for your child to participate in this lesson, please let me know and I will make other arrangements for them.
Please continue to check the SGS calendar, as there many, many things going on during this time of year.
Okay, that is all for now. Again, I apologize for getting this out later than usual, and I thank you for your understanding. Have a great rest of the week.

Happy Tuesday!
Ahhhh...back in a routine again, after two weeks of IOWA's. It's great. The kids even said they liked it, too. It would be nice to have some warmer weather, but hopefully that will come next week when are on vacation.
Congratulations to the following students for earning their $250 this week: Emma, Aubrie, Keaton, and Audrey. Nice job, ladies!
Also, congratulations to the following students who had no missing or late assignments for the entire 3rd quarter of the school year: Grayson, Ashlee, Aubrie, Brayson, Tess, Beatrice, Keaton, Nicole, and Brecken. A job well done!
Our pizza book report day last Friday was awesome. They all did such a great job with their reports. I was very proud of them. We had lots of visitors in our room, which I think surprised them. They were all pretty tired in the afternoon, especially after a big pizza lunch!
For the 4th quarter book report, I am going to do something different. No project to do at home! Rather, we are going to do a group project in school on the book Charlotte's Web. I always wanted to try this and I figured this is a very good class to do it with. They love to work on things together. The only thing I am asking is if each child could have their own copy of the book. Some of the kids said they had it at home. If your child does not have one, I am sure any of the book stores would have it or Amazon would, too. If there is any problem with this, please let me know. I am not going to start the project until the week we come back from Easter break. So if your child could have the book here by then, that would be terrific!
Okay, that is all for now. I hope you and your family all have a blessed Easter and an enjoyable break. I must admit that I am really looking forward to it. Take good care!

Hi everyone!
Well, we did it! We finished all our IOWA testing this morning! Okay, we have a few who have to do some make up tests, but for the most part we are done. The students worked so hard this past week or so, and I am very proud of them. They did a good job!
Congratulations to Brecken for earning his $250 this week. Way to go, Brecken!
Please remember to send back the photos and/or money for the spring pictures from Lifetouch that were sent home. I have a few that are still out.
Just a reminder that our pizza book report presentations will be this Friday, March 23rd. They will go from 9:00 till 11:00. There are no set times. Feel free to stop in anytime and see the students. Also, I will be providing the pizza lunch that day. Thanks to those who offered to send in desserts! We are all set.
Speaking of pizza...the Gariety family got Fr. Tim's pizza lunch for the 3rd grade from the auction. We will be having that lunch on Tuesday, April 10th, when we get back from Easter break. Another fun lunch to look forward to! Many thanks to the Garietys!
We are just finishing our first chapter in Math dealing with fractions. We will be starting our new chapter tomorrow, which will be all about the ways we can compare fractions.
Don't forget that next week is a short week. No school on Good Friday.
Okay, that is all for today. Oh! Happy Spring to everyone! I think we are all ready for it. I hope you are all having a good week. Again, thanks for all your support and cooperation.
Thanks much,
Chris Lesczynski

Hi everyone!
We are into our first week of IOWA testing and everything seems to be going well. Usually by next week they start to get a bit tired of it, but so far so good!
Congratulations to the following students for earning their $250 this week: Brooklynn, Nicole, Beatrice, Braden, Bradley, Ashlee, and Tess. Nice job!
Don't forget that all online Scholastic book orders are due today.
Also, if you have not returned the permission slip/money for the trip to the Milwaukee County Zoo yet, please do so as soon as possible. Remember that all are invited to join us as chaperones that day--but remember that you must provide your own transportation and pay for the entrance fee to the zoo. The date for the trip is Friday, May 11th.
Please forgive me for the goof-up on the due date for the pizza book report. On the directions it is due Wednesday, March 21st. Anytime before that is fine, also.
Speaking of the pizza reports...Friday, March 23rd is our presentation day. We will begin at 9:00 and end at 11:00. It is sort of an "open house" day. Parents and friends are invited to stop in and enjoy the students reports. There is no set time for each child's report. It is a fun morning for the students and it does get pretty crowded in here at times. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me.
I will be providing a pizza lunch that day from Dominoes. In the past, I always had a parent pick up our pizzas, but now that my husband, David, is retired, he has offered to do it for us! Would anyone be willing to provide some sort of dessert for us for that day? If you would, please let me know!
The end of the 3rd quarter is March 21st and report cards will be sent home on Thursday, March 29th.
Our planter that our class did for the auction was absolutely beautiful and I think it went for a pretty good sum of money. I did not hear what the final bid was. Anyhow, thanks again to Mr. Kersten for designing/making this for us. We really appreciate it!
Okay, that is all for now. Hope you are all having a good week and that everyone is staying healthy! Take good care!
Thanks,
Chris Lesczynski

Happy Tuesday!
Hope everyone is doing well. We had a little touch of winter again. It can go away whenever it wants to now! I guess we cannot complain too much since we didn't really have that bad of a winter at all. But I think we are all ready for spring!
Speaking of which, please make sure your child still brings their winter gear for recess. If anything it keeps them warmer and the boots stop all the mud and whatever from being tracked into our classroom. They still need to bundle up!
Please remember to send in the money/permission slip for our trip to the Milwaukee County Zoo. I know that is a ways away, but we wanted to let parents know that whoever does want to come along on the trip is more than welcome. There is no limit to the number of chaperones that we can bring. The only thing is that chaperones will need to pay for their admission to the zoo and they need to drive themselves and meet us there. Perhaps parents can carpool together. I hope this is giving you enough of a "heads up" to make your plans. We would love to have as many of you as possible!
Scholastic book order flyers were sent home yesterday. Please have all online orders in by next Tuesday, March 13th.
Congratulations to Keaton for earning her $250 this week. Nice job!
We will officially be starting our IOWA testing next Monday, March 12th. This week we are doing the practice tests to give them a little taste as to what the tests will be like. I will be sending home a note tomorrow with information about these two weeks coming up. Hopefully everyone stays healthy.
Okay, that is all for now. Have a good rest of the week. As always, if you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact me.
Thanks,
Chris Lesczynski

Hi everyone,
These weeks are just flying by. Thankfully we had everyone here all week--knock on wood. I hope it stays this way. Makes life so much easier.
Don't forget our trip to the museum on Friday. We are really looking forward to it. Please remember to send that lunch slip back by tomorrow that was attached to the reminder note about the museum that was sent home yesterday--even if your child is not taking the school cold lunch. Thanks!
Congratulations to Beatrice for earning her $250 this week! Way to go!!
Don't forget that it is our mass next Wednesday.
If your child is going to be doing a reading part for our mass, I will send it home with them either tomorrow or Thursday. Please be sure that your child practices their part.
Progress reports will be coming home this week Thursday.
We finished our chapter on division today in Math. Our next chapter will be on understanding fractions.
Okay, I think that is all for now. Have a good rest of the week. Thank you for all your help and support.

Happy Tuesday!
Hope you are all doing well and staying healthy. We have had a few out this week, but hopefully we will all be on the mend soon.
Scholastic online book orders were due today. I will submit them, but will check again tomorrow to see if anyone ordered a little bit late and will submit those orders.
Please don't forget to send in the permission slip for our trip to the Milwaukee Public Museum. This trip is a "freebie"!!
Congratulations to the following students who earned their $250 this week: Braden, Bradley, Jack, Tess, Ashlee, Nicole, and Brayson. Nice going everyone!!
I am sure you all heard by now that Jack is being home-schooled. We miss him a lot, but hope that all goes well with him.
We started an Olympic project this week. This will be a lot of fun for the kids to do, but at the same time it will cover several topics in Social Studies.
As I said awhile back, we will be having our Valentine's Day party on Tuesday, February 13th, instead of on the actual 14th. Since the 14th is on Ash Wednesday, we decided that it would be more appropriate to celebrate it the day before. Please have your child decorate a bag or box to hold their Valentine's and have it here at school no later than the 13th, obviously! If anyone would be able to send the following treats for the party, it would be greatly appreciated:
A sweet treat--cupcakes or cookies
Juice boxes--14
Crackers
Cheese and/or sausage cut up
Fruit--perhaps grapes???
If you would be willing to send in any of those treats, please let me know asap. Thanks!
Okay, that is all for now. Again, thanks so much for all your help and support. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact me. Stay warm!

We are having a fun Catholic Schools Week so far! Today we watched the movie Homeward Bound with our 6th grade buddies. I love that movie--always cry at the end!
Tomorrow is the Catholic Schools Week mass. We hope you can join us, if at all possible. This is a "dress-up day" for the students. If your child will not be wearing dress-up clothes, they must wear the regular mass clothing.
Also, Friday is our trip to Kingpin Lanes in West Bend for our annual bowling to end the week. Each grade was assigned a color to wear that day and ours is red.
Congratulations to Keaton for earning her $250 this week. Good job, Keaton!
I will be sending the February Scholastic Book Order sheets tomorrow. All orders are done online and should be in by Monday, February 5th.
The students are doing a very good on their division facts so far. They know all the division strategies now, which is such a big help with doing their facts. Please try to have your child practice their facts at home, also.
We are also almost finished with all the uppercase cursive letters. I am starting to have them do a lot more of their work in cursive writing. We will not do our Spelling in cursive, however.
Pizza book report boxes were sent home last week, as I am sure you all saw. If you have any questions about them, please let me know.
Okay, that is all for now. Have a great rest of the week. Let's hope we can all stay healthy!
Thanks much,
Chris Lesczynski

Not too much news this week. Here are just a few things going on...
Pizza book report materials will be sent home tomorrow. All I have to do is get the pizza boxes, generously donated from Sloppy Joe's tonight and we will be set to go.
Congratulations to Emma and Grayson for earning their $250 this week. Great job!
Catholic Schools Week begins on Sunday with the Pancake Breakfast/Open House. Please remember to check the schedule for each day of the week for the activities going on.
We started our Chapter 7 in Math this week. I was very pleased with the Chapter 6 tests. The new chapter will go through each set of facts for division, as well as a few more strategies.
We had everyone back this week for Monday and Tuesday, but we lost a few today. Can't wait for this flu bug to be over with!
Well, like I said, not too much for this week. Take good care and stay healthy. As usual, if you have any questions or concerns, feel free to contact me.
Thanks so much,

Happy Tuesday, everyone!
Here it is--Tuesday again. These weeks are flying by. Actually, the year is flying. As of today, the first half of the school year is over. That does not seem possible. I must say that this class is one of the hardest working group of students I think I have ever had. We are accomplishing so much and they have come so very far since September. Awesome!! Thank you for all your help, too.
Just a few things for this week:
Congratulations to the following students for earning their $250 this week: Audrey, Beatrice, Ashlee, Nicole, Aubrie, and Brecken. Nice job, everyone!
If you get a chance, stop and look at the kids' New Year's flipbooks that are on their cubbies. Very cute! Also, I mentioned last week that I tied MLK day and timelines together for Social Studies. Their projects are also hanging in the hall on the cubbies next to our room. They love doing projects!
We are continuing to work on forces in Science. Today we talked about inertia--this is big stuff here in 3rd grade!
In Social Studies I am introducing the Revolutionary War/Declaration of Independence/Constitution. I find that at this age, they really enjoy learning about these things. I always tell them the story of how I had a rummage sale many years ago and I had an old copy of the Declaration of Independence that was my parents. I think I had it marked at $2.00, and I actually had a woman come up to me and ask if it was the real thing! Seriously???? For $2.00???
Please continue to have your child do First in Math at home. I introduced repeated subtraction as a strategy for division and they were really rusty on their subtraction facts. We did some subtraction problems today, but they could still use some more practice. Break out the old flashcards!
That's about it for now. Hope everyone is doing well and trying to stay healthy. Lots of hand sanitizer being used. Have a good rest of the week.
Thanks much,
Chris Lesczynski

Happy New Year, everyone!
I hope you all had an enjoyable holiday season. Ours was great. Spent time with our girls and other family members and got to spend two days in Door County. It was a lot of fun. However, it is nice to be back at school and have some normal weeks coming up. So, here are a few things going on...
Congratulations to: Braden, Brayson, Jack, and Brooklynn for earning their $250 this week. Nice job!
Book reports are due on Monday, January 15th. I will make out the schedule for the book report presentations and it will be in next week's class page. Third quarter book report is our pizza report! More about that later~!
Scholastic online book orders should be placed by tomorrow, January 10th, so I can submit it.
Please remember to put an extra pair of socks and mittens or gloves in your child's backpack. It is so nice to put on a dry pair of socks or mittens, especially on Mondays and Wednesdays when we have an extra recess in the afternoon.
Also, please check with your child to see if they have enough supplies like pencils, red pens/pencils, markers, crayons, etc. We are almost to the half year point and sometimes this is when they need to stock up on some new things.
In Social Studies this week, we are combining working on timelines and information on Martin Luther King. The two things came together quite nicely. We are also watching some "Kid President" videos. The kids absolutely love him. He has so many wonderful insights that are good for children and adults. You can find them on youtube.
We are started our first chapter in division and it is going quite well. I have put together a packet again of division strategies that I will send home this week. I hope this helps, since I know that some of the vocabulary has changed over the years.
Okay, that is all for now. Hope everyone is doing well and that we can keep the kids healthy. I have really been stressing hand washing and staying an arm's length away from each other! I figured that it can't hurt!
Thanks much,
Chris Lesczynski

Happy Tuesday,
Wow! Hard to believe that Christmas is less than a week away. I guess I better start my shopping soon...we don't have that many to buy for, so I have a lot of time!
Just a few things to mention...
Congratulations to: Brecken, Tess, Bradley, Grayson, and Emma for earning their $250 this week! Nice job!
We completed our chapter 5 in Math today and tomorrow will be our test. Our next chapter will be an introduction to division. Again, a few strategies will be presented to them to work on division skills.
Please remember to put an extra pair of socks and mittens or gloves in your child's backpack, just in case theirs get wet at recess.
It is our mass tomorrow. Hope to see you there, if at all possible.
We will be starting some new things in Social Studies and Science when we get back from break. In Science, we will be working on various types of forces and in Social Studies we will be working on time lines.
Okay, that is all for now. I wish all of you and your families the Merriest Christmas and Happiest of New Years. We all have so much to be thankful for. Enjoy this wonderful season of the year with your precious children, whom I treasure very much. This is such a great class to work with.
Thanks much,
Chris Lesczynski

Hi everyone!
Hope this blustery day finds you nice and warm. We knew it had to happen sometime soon. So we are in the midst of the holiday season here in 3rd grade. We did have a little talk today where I reminded the students that we still have twelve and a half days of school left before Christmas vacation. It was getting a bit squirrely in here the last two days, so it seemed to calm things down a bit.
IMPORTANT: Remember that we do not have Mass tomorrow-Wednesday. We will be going up to the big church on Friday to celebrate the feast of the Immaculate Conception. Students do not have to wear Mass clothing tomorrow, but they must on Friday. If you are planning on taking your child up to church on Friday, please let me know and also let me know whether they are taking hot or cold lunch. If you are dropping your child off at school on Friday, they must be here by 7:50, as the buses will be leaving shortly after 8:00.
We are also now in the season of Advent. Yesterday we had our traditional Advent prayer service with the whole school in the gym, where the Advent wreaths got blessed and we did our first weekly service. Also, we are working on our Jesse Tree in the class. Each day we read a story from the Bible telling us about the person whose symbol we will be coloring in for the day. Lastly, we have our Advent banners hanging on the cubbies in the hall, where we have a picture for each week describing something that Advent gives us. That is a new thing for me this year and the kids really like it.
Congratulations to: Beatrice, Keaton, Aubrie, Nicole, and Ashlee for earning their $250 this week. Nice job, ladies!
Tomorrow we will be having our test on Chapter 4 in Math. Please remind your child when doing any of this multiplication work at home, to use those strategies to help them solve their problems. We were doing the review for the chapter today and many of them were not doing these and were having trouble. I did send that packet of the strategies awhile back. If you need another one, please let me know.
Finally, please remember to send the cold weather gear along with your child each day. We do get the kids out as much as we can and they should be dressed accordingly. It is also a good idea to stick an extra pair of socks in their backpack when we do get snow. Nothing worse than sitting with wet socks for the afternoon.
Okay, that is all for now. Hope you all have a good rest of the week. Take time to enjoy this beautiful season. Thanks again for all your help and support.

Happy Tuesday, everyone!
I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving. We spent ours at my daughter Rachel's house in Cambridge and it is so nice to have your children cook for you! Then on Friday, I got my long awaited for kitten!!! Finally!! Her name is Purl and she is a 3-month old rag doll cat. She is adorable, but there have been a few changes in the Lesczynski household...no more of my pretty candles lit every night, no food on the counters, make sure my knitting is out of sight...! What was I thinking??? Good thing she's cute!
We had a wonderful time on our trip to Madison last week Tuesday. The only bad part is that the day always goes by way too quickly. I especially wish we could spend more time at the Wisconsin museum. There is so much to see that we really didn't have enough time get to. The kids were on their absolute best behavior. One of the clerks in the gift shop at the museum commented to me about how well-behaved all the students were. That was so nice to hear. Thanks to all our chaperones, we really appreciated you coming along with us.
Congratulations to Jack,Brecken, and Audrey for earning their $250 this week. Good job!
We are finished with learning all the lower case cursive letters and we will now be working on the uppercase letters. Pretty soon we will be doing more and more of our work in cursive.
We also finished our first chapter in Spanish yesterday. I usually have us all work together on the test. Many of the students asked to do it on their own and they all did a very good job.
Advent starts this coming Sunday. We will be doing several activities each week. I will fill you in on those next week. Also, don't know if I ever passed this along to you that each day we do say one decade of the rosary together. We have gone over all the Mysteries of the rosary. It doesn't take very long, but I feel that this is a very important part of our day. The children do seem to like it.
Okay, that is all for now. As usual, if you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact me. Thank you for all your support.
Thanks,
Chris Lesczynski

Hi everyone!
Well, here we are at Tuesday again. This time is really going by quickly. We have lots to do, so there is always something going on in 3rd grade. Read on...
Congratulations to: Emma, Grayson, Tess, and Brayson for earning their $250 this week. Way to go!!
Spelling test this week Friday.
I must say that I was very pleased with all of the students' book report presentations last week. All of them did a very good job. It is not always easy to get up in front of others and give a report like that. I trust that you all saw the materials/directions for the second quarter book report. I sent it home last week. If you have any questions regarding the report, please feel free to contact me.
Next week there will not be a Spelling test due to the fact that we are only in school for two days--actually here for one and Madison for the other. We are all really looking forward to our trip. It is such a fun day, but it goes by rather quickly. Let's hope that we have good traveling weather!
I look forward to meeting with all of you during our conferences on Wednesday and Thursday of this week.
I will not update this class page either, next week. So let me take this opportunity to wish all of you a very Happy Thanksgiving--my favorite holiday! We will be going to my daughter and son-in-law's place in Cambridge. You have probably heard about my kitten I am getting, that I have wanted for a very long time. We will be able to pick her up next Friday. I am so excited. My husband is thrilled too...or not!!! He will love her, I just know it!
I am very thankful for all of you, too. I appreciate all the support you give to your child and to me. Thank you!

Hope this finds everyone well. We finally have everyone back. Let's hope we can keep everyone healthy for awhile. Lots of coughing in here today. It sort of sounded like a hospital once in awhile!
I do have hand sanitizer on all the tables. If anyone would like to donate a bottle or two, that would be greatly appreciated. I can see already that we will be going through a lot of it.
Congratulations to Braden for earning his $250 last week. Nice job!
We took our test on Chapter 3 in Math, which is the first chapter in multiplication. I am very happy to say that out of 25 problems, the most wrong was 3! Nobody had to do any fixing, which is wonderful. I sent home the parent letter from the book for Chapter 4 today. This next chapter will be introducing some of the facts and using all the strategies that we learned in Chapter 3 to learn these facts. I am so proud of all their fine work!
Thanks for sending the cold weather gear with the kids each day. Looks like we will have a string of cold days for awhile, so they will need those things.
Information will be sent home this week for their second quarter book report.
It looks as if 3rd grade is doing very well so far in the food drive. As of today we are tops in the school with 61 food items brought in! Let's keep it going!!
Okay, not much more for this week. I look forward to meeting with all of you next week for our Parent/Student/Teacher conferences. Take good care!
Thanks much,
Chris Lesczynski

Happy Tuesday!
Wow! What a crazy week this has been! We survived the Halloween festivities from yesterday. This morning celebrated All Saints Day mass up at the big church. Tomorrow we have Adoration. Busy, busy, busy! Oh, and to top it off, tomorrow starts the second quarter of the school year. Where did that time go?
Speaking of that, report cards will be sent home next Thursday, November 9th.
Congratulations to the following students for earning their $250: Keaton, Audrey, Ashlee, Beatrice, Brooklynn, and Madison. Nice job!
If you are one of our chaperones for the trip to Madison, please remember to let me know if you and your child will be eating lunch with us and to send in the $5.00, if you have not already done so.
We will be presenting our Hamburger Book Reports next week. I have made out a schedule. I usually like to do no more than five reports a day. If the time I have scheduled your child for does not work for you, please let me know asap. I will reschedule it.
Tuesday, November 7th--9:00--Grayson, Jack, Braden, Audrey, Ashlee
Wednesday, November 8th--10:00--Brecken, Aubrie, Brooklynn, Emma, Keaton
Thursday, November 9th--9:00--Brayson, Bradley, Tess, Beatrice, Nicole
I will be sending home the directions/materials for the second quarter book report next week.
Please remember to send warm coats, hats and mittens with your child. It is getting a bit chilly.
The students are doing a great job on our first chapter of multiplication. As I stated before, the first chapter goes over all the strategies they can use to compute multiplication problems. These strategies are very helpful. I will send home a sheet with all the strategies they know how to do, if they would need some help at home.
Okay, that is all for now. Hope you all have a great rest of the week! Enjoy!
Thanks much,
Chris Lesczynski

Get out the jackets and hats! Wow, it has gotten a bit chilly, hasn't it? Make sure to send your child with a warm jacket, as we do still go out, unless it is raining.
Please have your child wear any sort of orange shirt to Mass tomorrow, as it is our Unity Day Mass. Students should wear uniform bottoms, however.
Next week Wednesday is All Saint's Day. As usual, we will be attending Mass up at the big church.
Halloween news: Students may bring their costumes to school on Tuesday, October 31st. They will change into them around 12:30 in the afternoon. We will pretty much be spending the afternoon with our 6th grade buddies. There will be the caramel apple treats in the gym, we will be watching the Charlie Brown Halloween movie, and the parade around the school will be starting around 2:30. Prizes will be awarded after the parade in the gym for the Pumpkin Carving Contest. Information about that is being sent home tomorrow. Please note: Students are not allowed to dress in bloody, gory costumes and no fake weapons are allowed either. If you have any questions, please contact me.
Congratulations to the following students for earning their $250 last week: Aubrie and Nicole. Nice job, ladies!
We had a class meeting this morning. Lately, there has been a lot of very sloppy and careless work being turned in. Things that we have been doing, like heading papers, since the beginning of the school year, are being done haphazardly. A lot of answers that are being written for comprehension sheets, do not have anything to do with the story itself. In Math, students are not taking the time to read problems carefully and not doing any of the work on scratch paper or next to the problem. We do many of things over and over, but for whatever reason, they are just writing any old answer down. We discussed all these things and made a class promise to do work much more carefully. Please reinforce this at home. This is a very sharp group of students and I don't want them to have their work and grades slipping this way. Again, if you have concerns, please feel free to contact me.
Okay, that is about all for now. Have a great rest of your week. (Just think...two months from today is Christmas Eve!!!)

Happy Tuesday, everyone!
Hope you are all enjoying this beautiful weather! Wow, we have been busy so far this week in 3rd grade and it is only Tuesday! Please read on...
Don't forget to send in permission slips/money for the Madison trip and the trip to the Schauer Arts Center, if you haven't already done so.
Also, please send back the slips for Parent-Teacher-Student conferences. Students are required to attend the conferences.
We are taking our test on Chapter 2 in Math tomorrow. That means we will be starting our first chapter on multiplication on Thursday. The first chapter is about understanding the basic concepts of multiplication.
If you get a chance, stop in and look at the "climate boxes" the students made. They are on top of our cubbies. It was kind of a spur of the moment thing that I thought of and they absolutely loved doing it. They each picked a climate that they wanted and then went at it, showing what a place in their climate would look like. I think I emptied out all my cupboards with things they could use and it was amazing what they came up with. I let them work on them all last week Wednesday morning and I must say they had a blast! It was also neat to see how they took ownership of what they made and they were so proud. Also, it was a totally "kid made" project--that was the best!
We are starting a new unit in Social Studies on money and banking. I have some good activities planned and I think they will enjoy it.
We have our Chromebooks all set and ready to use. We used them today to look up things on the Farmer's Almanac for Science and the lesson went rather well. I am hoping to start keyboarding lessons with them this week and they will also be learning how to use Google Docs. I did stress to the kids how lucky we are to have them each have their own to Chromebook to use. Not every school is that fortunate.
Okay, that is all for now. Again, if you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact me. Enjoy the rest of your week!

Hi everyone!
Hope you are all doing well. These weeks are just flying by lately. Seems like I just updated this and here we again! So, here are just a few things going on.
Congratulations to: Brayson and Jack for earning their $250 this week. Way to go guys!
Don't forget that our living rosary is on Wednesday at 8:30 in the chapel. They all did such a good job practicing.
Also, don't forget to turn in the permission slip and the money for the field trip to the Christmas play.
The note/permission slip was sent home yesterday for our trip to Madison. Please...if you wish to chaperone, let me know asap. I can bring 5. This is a great trip that we take every 3 years.
Okay, that is all for now. Short week--short note! Have a great rest of the week. As always, thank you again for all your help and support. It is greatly appreciated.

Well, we made it through accreditation last week and what a relief it is! It is so nice to have that behind us and now we can move on. We will not get a final report for awhile, but things seemed to go quite well!
Next week Wednesday, October 11th, our class will be leading an all-school "Living Rosary" at 8:30 in the chapel. Parents are more than welcome to attend. We will practice several times beforehand, but there are no reading parts that I need to send home as if we were planning a regular Mass. We hope to see you there. It really is beautiful!
Don't forget that next week is a short week. There are teacher in-service days on Thursday and Wednesday.
We will have our Spelling test this week on Friday. Words were sent home yesterday. There will not be a test next week, since we are only in school 3 days.
I sent home the October Scholastic book orders today. Please remember to order online. The deadline for orders is Tuesday, October 10th.
We are mid-way through the first quarter. That means that progress reports will be sent home this Thursday. The copy that is sent home is yours to keep. You do not need to send it back.
Congratulations to: Grayson, Emma, and Braden for earning their $250 this week. Way to go!
Okay, that is all for now. Enjoy the beautiful fall weather we will be having. I love it!
Thank you,

Happy Tuesday!
Well, it is finally here...ACCREDITATION WEEK! After many, many months of preparing for this visit, we are set to go. As I said last time, we have so many wonderful things going on here at SGS, that we will do fine. However, my husband said last night that he will be glad not to hear the word accreditation for a long time!
Don't forget that this coming Friday is an early release day for the students at 11:00 a.m.
We will be having our Spelling test for this week on Friday. Hopefully you got the words that were sent home yesterday.
Congratulations to the following students who earned their $250 this week: Bradley, Audrey, Nicole, Aubrie, Brecken, Beatrice, Keaton, Brooklynn, and Tess! Way to go!
Just a reminder for the assignment notebook again. If you see in your child's book:
--Read story/note--that means they should read their story with you in their anthology and then just write in their assignment book: Joe read his story.
FIM/30 minutes/note--that means they should do 30 minutes of FIM and then just write: Joe did 30 minutes of FIM.
--Read 30 minutes/note--that means they should read independently for 30 minutes and again, just write: Joe read for 30 minutes.
--Test/ signed/return--this means your child is bringing a test home that we did, you should look it over, sign it and return it to school. I do return all tests at the end of the quarter.
All of these are assignments. If a child does not have a note for any of the above, it is considered a missing assignment. It is just a way for me to be assured that the work really was completed. I really appreciate your cooperation with this.
We started Chapter 2 in Math today which is all about Data and Graphing. It is a fun chapter before we get into the meat of multiplication and division with 3 chapters each. The parent letter for Chapter 2 was sent home tonight.
Okay, that is all for now. Yippee---the heat and humidity should be gone tomorrow. Can't wait--I think the kids are tired of it, also. Have a great rest of your week. Thank you again for all your help and support. I truly appreciate it!
Thanks,

Hi everyone,
Happy Tuesday! We are on our way during our first whole week of school. Things are getting smoother and smoother as the days go by. Most routines are in place and we are settled into 3rd grade. Here are a few reminders and things going on...
Please check the class calendar on this site. You will notice that on November 21st, grades 3, 4, and 5 are going to Madison. We make this trip every 3 years. We will be visiting the capitol and the Wisconsin Historical Museum. Much more information will be sent at a later date. It is an awesome day. Best field trip ever!
I hope that all directions and materials are clear for the first quarter book report. It is due on November 1st. If your child finishes his/her report earlier than that, they can certainly turn it in ahead of time. I always have the students present their reports to the class and parents are invited to attend these presentations. As it gets closer to that time, I will send home a schedule when the presentations will be.
Lesson 2 Spelling words were sent home yesterday. Our test will be on Friday of this week. I was very pleased with the results of the first test that we took yesterday.
Also, as you saw yesterday, if your child brings a test home and it is stamped: Test signed/return--that simply means, look the test over, sign it and send it back to school with your child. I keep them until report card time and then send them all home. Please do sign the tests because it is considered an assignment and if it is not returned the next day, it is considered a missing assignment.
In regards to testing, I do allow students to "fix" tests. I then average each score together and that number is their final grade.
Okay, I think that is all for now. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact me asap. I like things to get taken care of as quickly as possible. Thank you so much already for all your support. I truly appreciate it.
Have a great rest of the week!

Hope this finds all of you doing well! Can you believe it? Only 16 days of school left. That doesn't seem possible. Trying to keep everyone focused, which isn't always easy, but we still have work to do.
The really good news is that we finished all of our IOWA testing yesterday. This class is really something...they didn't want the testing to be over with! That's never happened before! Also, this is the first time EVER that there weren't any students who had make-up testing to do because of being absent. That is awesome! It is always difficult to have the kids do make-ups, because they are just not in the testing mode like when it is done as a group in the class. But, I don't have to worry about that! Thanks for all of your help with having them be prepared each day for testing. I appreciate it!
Please don't forget that the permission slip/money is due for our trip to the Richfield Historical Park, this Friday, May 12th. I had mentioned in the note about the trip, that I need one more parent driver to just drop off and pick us up. This third driver, unfortunately, will not be able to stay with us, as I can have only have one other chaperone besides myself. I do have a back up plan if no other parent can drive, but please let me know if you are able to. Oh...we leave school at 9:00 and will be picked up at 2:00.
We will be having our Spelling test this Friday with the words that were sent home yesterday.
I will be having my first carpal tunnel surgery next Tuesday. I will be here in the morning, as my procedure isn't until 1:00. Mrs. Rauch will be subbing for me that afternoon. Needless to say, I cannot wait till this is all over!
T-shirt book reports are due on May 19th. I will send out a schedule of presentations times next week.
Finally, Happy Mother's Day to all our Moms!! Hope you get to spend your day relaxing and being with the ones you love!
That is all for now. Have a great rest of the week!
Thanks much,
Chris Lesczynski

I can't believe we flipped the calendar to May already. Now the time is really going to fly. We have a lot of things coming up, so please read on...
Just a reminder that there will not be mass tomorrow-Wednesday, May 3rd, due to the fact that we will be having mass on Friday for Grandparents' Day. Students do not have to wear their mass clothes tomorrow, but they must wear them on Friday. Please make sure that your child wears proper mass shoes. We have had a few students wearing tennies to mass, which are not appropriate. They may change shoes after mass.
Speaking of Grandparents' Day...if your child will be going home with Grandpa/Grandma, please let me know. Dismissal will be at 11:00 on Friday morning.
Spelling words were sent home yesterday. Our test will be next Monday, May 8th.
As you all know, the Scholastic Book Fair is this week. So, because of that, I will not be placing a May book order. If you would really like me to, let me know and I can send a flyer home to you. I don't want you to be bombarded with book orders.
The students are doing very well on the IOWA testing. We finished the core tests yesterday and today we started the cognitive tests. I haven't heard any complaints yet, in fact, yesterday they asked if we could work longer on them. I don't like to do too many in one day. I am thinking we may be finished by the end of the week or early next week.
Next week we will also be doing our "Safeguarding God's Children" lesson. In 3rd grade our lesson is mainly "what if" questions. An example of one of the questions is: You are playing at a park and see someone standing by some trees. He asks you to come over and talk to him. What would you do? There are a few questions that refer to "private parts." These we explain by saying parts that are covered by your swimming suit. I will be doing this lesson next Wednesday, May 10th at 12:15 and it usually takes about a half hour. If you do not want your child to take part in this lesson, please let me know and I will arrange for him/her to go to another classroom during that time period.
This Thursday, I will be at school, but not in our room. Miss Retzlaff and I will be working on our accreditation materials. Please say a prayer for our staff members, as this accreditation process is very time consuming, to say the least. Hours and hours and hours...
Last, I just found out yesterday when I will be having two surgeries for carpal tunnel. Last week I had the nerve test done and when I heard the neurologist keep on saying the word severe, I knew it wasn't good. I will be having the first one on May 16th and the second one on May 30th. I will only be gone a half day for each procedure. It is a pretty easy surgery and I cannot wait till it is over. The pain has been very bad lately.
I won't have to miss much knitting time, however!!!
Okay, that is all for now. Hope you have a good rest of the week. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact me.
Thanks much,
Chris Lesczynski

Happy Tuesday!
Hope everyone is doing well. Short week, but here are a few things...
The 8th grade will be doing the Living Stations on Thursday of this week in the chapel. We will start to gather around 2:00 or so. These are always done so beautifully by the students. We always leave the chapel in silence when the stations are finished and remain silent until dismissal. It is very powerful.
We started our chapter in math on time this week. Please practice this skill with your child at home, whenever possible. Just randomly asking them what time it is or another way to say the time. For example, if it is 7:45--another way to say it would quarter to eight. Or asking them what time would it be if it was 11 minutes before 6. Those are the types of time we are working on. I would be very appreciative if you would do these things at home.
I will be sending a letter home tomorrow regarding our IOWA testing. We will be doing the practice tests on April 24th and 25th. Then we will be jumping into the "real" ones on the 26th.
Okay, that is all for now. I hope you all have a blessed Easter and that you can enjoy it with family and friends. To those of you traveling, please have a safe trip. Thanks again for all your help and support.
Happy Easter!

Hi everyone,
Happy Wednesday! I know, I am a day late. I was sitting in the dentist's chair last night and it hit me that I hadn't updated my page! Better late, than never! It will be a short anyways...
Don't forget that Scholastic online book orders are due in by tomorrow. We will have one last order for May and that will be the last order for the year.
I hope you all had a chance to look at the t-shirt book report directions that were sent home last week. Please note that the shirt your child uses, must fit him/her, since they will wear it during their report. These reports are due on May 19th, 2017. I will send home a schedule of presentations as it gets nearer to that date.
Since next week is a short week, we will not be having a Spelling test.
We will be going to Adoration tomorrow in the chapel at 9:15-10:00. Parents are welcome to join us!
Just a reminder that students should be wearing their mass shoes on Wednesdays. I have been seeing a few tennies being worn. They may change after mass.
We will be finishing up our chapter on fractions this week and will be starting the next chapter which will be on time and measurement.
Okay, that is all for now. Hope you all have a good rest of the week! As usual, if have any questions or concerns, please feel free to get in contact with me.
Thanks,
Chris Lesczynski

Hi everyone!
Yay! We still have a sun! I thought we lost it with all the dreary weather we have had lately. I think we all needed a little sunshine today!
Please don't forget that tomorrow is our last mass for the year that we planned. I kept looking at the mass schedule thinking I goofed someplace, but it really is our last one. We would love to have you join us, if at all possible. We practiced today and they all did such a fine job!
Everyone is doing a really good job on our comparing fractions chapter in math. They are using all the strategies and the fraction tiles sure do help. Those are a manipulative that some of them brought home to do their homework with.
Report cards will be sent home on Thursday of this week.
Pizza book reports went so well last Friday. I was so proud of the students for the way that they all behaved when our visitors were here. They were all pretty tired in the afternoon.
Speaking of book reports...look for the 4th quarter materials to be sent home either Thursday or Friday of this week.
Just a reminder about the drop off policy at the beginning of the day. Please enter the parking lot off of Hubertus Road and drop off by the cones. Then exit on Scenic. There was an incident the other day when a student was almost hit by a car in the parking lot. We need to keep our kiddos safe.
Okay, that is all for now. Hope you are all doing well. Thank you again for all your help and cooperation. It is greatly appreciated!

Well, last week was the wind and today is the snow and cold. It's Wisconsin, I guess! Just think, a week from today is the first full day of Spring!
I am very happy to report that the class donated approximately $27.00 for Evelyn's soda can project from 4-H. She said she will let us know what the grand total is from her entire group. Glad we could help out for such a worthy cause.
I was also very proud of my class last week Wednesday. Mrs. Wasserman reported to me that in her art class that day, the 3rd graders were doing a paper mache project. Needless to say, there was a huge mess, but the kids had so much fun doing it. Well, when it came time for clean-up, the whole class all pitched in to help out and they went above and beyond the call of duty. Mrs. Wasserman was so impressed with this show of responsibility, that she gave the class a little treat the next day. That sure made my day! (I told Mrs. Wasserman that her road is paved to Heaven for doing a project like this!)
Okay, it is finally here! Book BINGO pizza presentations! Here are the details:
1. We will be doing our presentations on the morning of Friday, March 24th. These will not be individual presentations. You are all welcome to pop in anytime between 9:00 and 11:00 that morning and see the reports.
2. I will be providing the pizza lunch for the kids. Last year I ordered the pizzas from the Pizza Hut in Hartford and they were ready for pick-up at 11:00. I went in the day before and ordered everything. Here is where I need a little help. Is there anyone who would be able and willing to pick up the pizzas for us and bring them back to school? Please let me know asap, because if no one is able to--which is completely understandable--I may have to ask Mr. Hamilton for help.
Also, I was wondering if anyone would be able to send in a dessert for us? Nothing fancy, just some little treat for us to have.
Oh, one more thing. With it being Lent, I know that the kids are under the age for the meat eating restriction, but I thought there might be some families who are all following the practice of not eating meat on Fridays during Lent, regardless of the age. Please let me know if you would prefer that your child not have any meat toppings on the pizza. I always order at least 2 all cheese pizzas.
Next week I will be sending home practice papers for those who will have reading parts for our mass on Wednesday, March 29th.
Okay, that is all for now. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact me. Thanks for all your help!

Dear Parents,
We have been busy, busy, busy here in 3rd grade! Here are a few things going on worth mentioning...
First, congratulations to: Kaylin, Annalise, Emma, Kendyl, Spencer, and Elle for earning their $250 this week. Nice job!
Also, congratulations go out to: Kailyn, Spencer, Jackson, Elle, and Katie for passing all the addition facts sets. They are all working on the subtraction sets now. Way to go!
I was so proud of my class last Wednesday because of the beautiful job they did at our mass. Fr. Tim really complimented them and you could just see these glowing faces! As I said before, I believe our next mass will be sometime in December.
The students will be having a test on the heart in Health class this Friday. I will check with them if there were any papers that they could study from.
We are halfway finished with our first chapter on multiplication. They really seem to be catching onto what multiplication is really all about. They did their mid-chapter check-up today, so I am anxious to see how they did.
Please check the class calendar. I put in some future dates. Time is flying!
Thanks so much for all your help and cooperation. I really appreciate it! Have a great rest of the week!

Dear Parents,
Happy Tuesday! This fall weather is awesome. I saw some photos taken of the Holy Hill area yesterday on Facebook. We are so lucky to live in such a beautiful area. I think sometimes we forget that. So, a few things going on in 3rd grade...
Remember that it is our mass tomorrow. Hope to see you there. That is always a big deal to have parents in the congregation.
Congratulations to: Annalise, Jackson, and Connor. These 3 students passed all the addition math facts sets and they will now be doing the subtraction sets. Way to go!!!
Speaking of math, we started chapter 3, which is titled "Understanding Multiplication." It really gives the students a good overview of what multiplication is all about. The parent letter for this chapter was sent home today with your child. Please look it over.
I hope you liked the "Love One Another" magnets that were sent home yesterday. That was the ending project for the missionary unit last week.
I started something new last week. I gave each one of them one of those little assignment notebooks and it is our "Prayer Journal." Each day, I will just randomly call out, "Prayer Journal time." They get out their journals and jot down someone or something that they would like to pray for. When finished writing, they pause and reflect about their prayers. We literally take about 5 minutes to do this, but it is so heart-warming to see them writing away and then spending that quiet time. They really seem to enjoy doing this.
I would like to ask that each child bring in a pair of those little earbuds that we can use with the laptops and later on, the Chromebooks. There are a lot of fun activities from the reading and science programs that they can do independently on the laptops. It would be great if they could all have a pair at school by Friday. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact me. I know that are available many places for a very nominal fee.
Well, that is about for this week. Oh, we had the Lions' Club visit school yesterday and do their annual vision screening. It was so cute, because one of the women volunteers came up to me when my class was finished and she said they were one of the most polite and respectful classes she had seen in a long time! Kudos to the 3rd grade!
Have a great rest of the week!

Dear Parents,
Happy Tuesday! Hope you are all having a great week! We got so much done in 3rd grade today. They were rather chatty, but we still managed to fit in a lot of things that we needed to catch up on.
We are doing our missionary unit in Religion this week. This is a program that the school does every year through the Columban Missions. Our unit deals with human rights throughout the world and how sometimes people are not given the rights they should have. It is very well done and I think the kids really enjoy it. Today we had a mini-list of the human rights the United Nations developed many years ago. We discussed each one and how it applies to those not being treated as a child of God. They love the video and were really surprised to learn of people in Pakistan who get paid 7 cents an hour to work in a brick factory. Really opens their eyes a bit.
We will be finishing our graphing unit in math this week. We will be starting our first of three units about multiplication on Monday. The first one deals with understanding the process of multiplication.
A new spelling word preview was sent home today. Spelling test will be on Monday of next week.
Scholastic online book orders are due tomorrow. I usually do not send a November book order home due to the Scholastic Book Fair during conferences.
Apparently our UW student athlete was picking up our Flat Bucky today, so we should be able to start on this soon.
I believe I told you last week that we will be planning the mass for next week Wednesday's mass--October 14th. If your child will be having a reading part to do, I will be sending home a copy this week for you to practice with them. Not everyone will get a part in this mass. Those who don't this time, will get a part next time. Hope you can join us!
Okay...I think that is all for now. Oooops...I will be gone on Friday for a long weekend in Door County--time to start closing our place up for the winter...Julie Malucha will be subbing for me, so the children will be in good hands.
Have a great rest of the week!
Thanks much,
Chris Lesczynski

Dear Parents,
What beautiful fall weather we are having! This is my favorite time of year. So, here are a few things gong on in 3rd grade...
Congratulations to: Connor, William, and Isabelle for earning their $250 this week! Nice job!
The first mass that our class will be planning, will be on Wednesday, October 14th. I will send any reading parts home next week, so the children can practice. I am letting you know early, so that hopefully, we can have a lot of parents join us. I know that the kids really like seeing their parents out in the congregation.
Progress reports will be sent home tomorrow. I am doing mine a bit different this year. First of all, I revamped my whole report. Also, there is a section where the students will write 2 things that they feel they may need to improve on before report card time. I think they should have some ownership with this report.
I sent home that 2-sided sheet of spelling words that all 3rd graders should know. These are sort of non-negotiable words, meaning that no matter what, they need to know how to spell them.
We now know the name of our student athlete from UW. Her name is Tori Blake and she is on the women's volleyball team. Apparently, she did this last year and really enjoyed it. So here we go!
We are working on our graphing unit in math and the kids are really enjoying it. The next 3 chapters will be all about multiplication.
So, that is all for now. Hope you have a great rest of the week!
Thanks much,
Chris Lesczynski

Dear Parents,
Ahhhh...the last day of summer. Hard to believe! Although, fall is my favorite time of year. Well, we are busy, busy, busy in 3rd grade. Lots going on. Here are just a few things...
Congratulations to: Kaylin, Annalise, Katie, Jackson, Elle, Lia, Kendyl, and Vincent for earning their $250 this week. That is awesome!
Our Flat Bucky is going in the mail as soon as I leave here. We will find out who our student athlete will be from UW when all the Buckys are in Madison. This is going to be so much fun! I don't know if I told you or not, but each month there will be a theme that the students will have to journal about and that our student athlete will also talk about. Some of the themes are: health, organization, respect, listening, good role models, etc. I am hoping that this will be a good learning experience for all of us. I had to sign a contract that we uphold our end of the program. If we would not, we would be out of the program and another class could step in. I guess there is a waiting list to get involved in this. I will keep you posted on all that is going on. No one is going to get our spot!
Tomorrow, we will be having an all-school prayer service and then we are all getting together with our buddies to watch the parade for Pope Francis. We have been talking a lot about how this is such an exciting event going on in our country.
That is about all for now. Hope this finds all of you well and enjoying this wonderful weather. As always, if you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to give me a call or stop in.

Thanks much,
Chris Lesczynski
